At Mad Toast Live!, it is our goal to support the music scene in and around Madison, Wisconsin by showcasing our wealth of talented local as well as touring regional and national artists and presenting them to our listeners.  We feature music and conversation with diverse musical artists of all styles in an intimate setting.  The show is recorded for broadcast the 1st, 3rd and 5th Tuesdays of the month September-December and February-May at The Brink Lounge, located at 701 E. Washington Ave. in downtown Madison.  Periodically we will also feature a pre-recorded concert from another venue with a post-concert "green-room" interview edited into the feature.

When appropriate or upon request, Madison music veterans and hosts of the show, Mary Gaines and Chris Wagoner, often sit in with the guests on a variety of instruments and harmony vocals.  Live audience interaction adds to the unique flavor of Mad Toast Live!

The show was started in May of 2008 by Chris and Mary and was exclusively held at the Brink Lounge in Madison.  It existed for 8 months before the hosts teamed up with Andrew LaValley of Bear Sound to broadcast the show.  Mad Toast Live! started as an internet show and a podcast.  In July of 2009, the show was picked up by WORT 89.9FM in Madison.  Two episodes are aired each week from 12am to 2am Saturday morning (Friday Night).  Multi-camera video was added in 2012, featured on this website as well as YouTube.  Mad Toast Live has steadily built an audience both in the Madison area and worldwide over the internet.

Listeners are encouraged to attend a taping of Mad Toast Live!  The live audience is a crucial component in creating the "natural habitat" of our guests.  An enthusiastic crowd generally brings a better performance out of the artist.  Check the schedule and come see a show!

Weekly podcasts of the broadcast are available free of charge on this site and in iTunes.  Stay tuned for new episodes here and at our Facebook page.  Thanks for stopping by!
